Okoroire Hotel is a beautiful, famous 'Olde World' country pub built in the 1880's and nestled in eighty acres of park surroundings on the banks of the Waihou River. Our family has owned and operated this business for three generations. The hotel is constructed from native timbers and is a veritable example of a true Kiwi hotel.
With our own 9 hole golf course, Okororie is an ideal center for a golfing break, additionally there are a further 27 golf courses with 40 minutes of the hotel.
The hotel is in the heart of the Waikato, no more than 40 minutes to Tauranga, Hamilton and Rotorua. Auckland airport is 90 minutes drive time and Taupo is 70 minutes to the south.
To suit your needs we offer a wide range of accommodation consisting of 5 detached double/twin chalets, 2 detached family chalets, 14 double/twin hotel rooms fully restored to period.
All Chalet and Hotel rooms have bathrooms and tea/coffee facilities. The Chalets have television.
We also have serviced budget accommodation, 4 single and 3 double/twin rooms.
What is better of a fine summers afternoon that to spend the day playing a relaxing game of golf. Our established course consists of nine hole set in absolutely stunning new Zealand countryside.
Equally playable by novice golfers as well as old hands, the course is par XX. For travelers who have not brought their own clubs or for people who just fancy having a go we offer club hire.
Once you have completed your round you can relax in the ‘19th’ hole or enjoy a deep soak in our hot pools. Why not complete your day by dining in our newly refurbished restaurant.
It is a closely guarded secret that there are in fact 27 golf courses within 40 minutes drive of Okoroire, which is actually more than are available in Auckland, and they are a little bit easier to get to.
If you want to enjoy a golf break or holiday, by basing yourself at the hotel you will be able to enjoy the best of both worlds. Days playing golf and evenings relaxing in our totally stress free environment.
If you want to bring your partner with you and golf is not their game, there are plenty of shopping opportunities in the area.
